WELCOME TO THE FIESTA SPORTTROPHY IRELAND
M-Sport, the team behind Ford’s FIA World Rally Championship programme is delighted to bring for a fourth consecutive season, the exciting Fiesta SportTrophy (FST) to Ireland for the 2010 season.
The six round asphalt series will follow all of the TROA Irish Tarmac Championship events, starting with the Galway International Rally in February and finishing with the Cork ‘20’ Rally in October. All the events will be a one-day format allowing competitors to join the series at any point. This year will also give the drivers the opportunity to score points within the Irish Tarmac Championship.
The 2010 series sees the exciting introduction of the new M-Sport Fiesta R2. The R2 rally car will compete in the championship alongside the successful Fiesta ST GpN rally car.
On-event technical support for the one-make championship will come from Malcolm Wilson’s M-Sport Team who will attend each round with full parts support and with the championship being administered from the Dovenby Headquarters.
The championship is aimed at all competitors, young and old, experienced and amateur, all with the aim of enjoying close competition allied to professional support.
M-Sport is offering a prize fund that will provide financial support for competitors down to eighth on each round. The winner on each round will receive €750 plus additional product support. At the end of the season, the winner will receive the opportunity to compete on the Condroz Rally in Belgium at the end of 2010 in an M-Sport prepared and maintained Ford Fiesta R2 as part of the M-Sport team. The top finisher in the championship and one ‘wildcard’ will win the opportunity to go forward to the FST International Shootout.
